Changes in Australian Immigration 2010

To improved go with the requirements of the Australian financial system, the government of Australia has brought about certain changes in its policies concerning to immigration. This article gives a general idea on the same. The different amendments made in the Skilled Migrants program comprise the following:

•Those applications that were filed previous to 1st September 2007 would be abjured. Though, the request for the same would be repayment back to the applicants by the Department of Immigration and Australian Citizenship.

•The MODL or the Migration Occupations in Demand List would be removed totally. As an alternative, a Skilled Occupations List or the SOL would be brought out by an autonomous body known as the Skills Australia. This list would be evaluated yearly. This list would be bringing in in the center of this year. It would mostly cater to those occupations and trades that are of lofty value. In addition, the CSL or the Critical Skills List which was bringing in in early 2009 would also be ruled out totally.

•The points based system would also be assessed entirely to see that the most excellent of the candidates are selected. As of now, points are granted based on the educational qualifications, skills in English and work experience. Post evaluation, these points would also think granting more points to some occupations than those of others. Other comparable aspects would also be dwelled into.

•Few occupations would be outnumbered more than the others so that the applicable skills are met for the similar. For this, changes would be cause in the Migration Act so that the Minister would be given due authority for set for the maximum figure of visas in an occupations on a need basis.

•Emphasis would be laid on immigration policies which are additional precise to state and territories. This would cater in a superior way to all the skill requirements of each state. In addition, it would make the state accountable for selecting its own candidates. With this, applicants chosen under the state program would be given right of way for processing.
